I live and work in Coventry, UK. I am a writer and artist using photography to explore ways in which to shape narrative. My work seeks to articulate a way of seeing that helps me to better understand my relationship both to myself, and the wider experiences of my personal, political and built environment. Attached to observations of repetition, degeneration and degradation, increasingly my images strive to find ways past direct representation, and are driven by processes that make use of text, ink, plant based dyes, and paint, to interact with silver gelatin prints created in the darkroom. Over the last 20 years, I have written and made work for touring theatre projects, seeing my plays performed at the Edinburgh Festival, in Europe, America, and closer to home in Coventry city centre where, in a disused chip shop, for the last 10 years, alongside my partner, I have run a community arts space called the Shop Front Theatre.
